Maersk achieved strong performance in the second quarter of 2026, supported by robust market demand, higher spot freight rates and growth across business segments.

Maersk reported revenue of USD 15.8 billion in Q2 2026, up 20% year-on-year. EBITDA reached USD 3 billion, while EBIT stood at USD 1.6 billion, both higher than the same period last year and the previous quarter.
The company said global transport and logistics demand remained resilient during the quarter. Ocean freight rates increased significantly due to strong demand, capacity constraints and port congestion in Europe, the Middle East, South America and West Africa.
Maersk’s Ocean business revenue increased 23%, with EBIT reaching USD 935 million, compared with a loss of USD 192 million in Q1. Loaded volumes increased 4.1%, mainly driven by exports from Asia, while average freight rates rose 22%.
CEO Vincent Clerc said the results reflected a more volatile market environment, with strong demand from the Far East reshaping global trade flows and putting pressure on logistics infrastructure.
Based on the strong performance, Maersk raised its 2026 full-year guidance, expecting underlying EBITDA of USD 10.5–12.5 billion, compared with the previous forecast of USD 8–10 billion.
