Liu Wei, Minister of Transport, recently inspected smart port construction, multimodal transport and green intelligent shipbuilding in Hubei Province.

During his visit to the Qipanzhou Port Area of Huangshi Port, Liu emphasized the need to accelerate smart port development, steadily promote automation in terminal operations, improve transport organization efficiency and strengthen operational safety management.

He also visited Ezhou Huahu International Airport and SF Express’ transfer center, where he called for further optimization of air cargo route networks, stronger multimodal transport capabilities and higher hub efficiency.

At Hubei Hechuang Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., Liu inspected the development of green intelligent vessels and the assembly of new energy inland ships. He said China should accelerate the application of new energy vessels, improve standards and strengthen key technology research.

The Ministry of Transport recently issued the Smart Port Digital and Intelligent Technology Guidelines (First Edition), providing technical guidance for digital and intelligent upgrading of coastal and inland container and dry bulk terminals.
