Ma Zhengguo, General Manager of Beibu Gulf Port Group, recently visited Tao Weidong, Chairman of COSCO SHIPPING Lines, to discuss port-shipping logistics cooperation and the Pinglu Canal business.

Ma, who is also Deputy Party Secretary and Vice Chairman of Beibu Gulf Port Group, led a delegation to meet Tao Weidong, Chairman and Party Secretary of COSCO SHIPPING Lines, and Liu Guoqi, Chairman and Party Secretary of Shanghai PANASIA Shipping Co., Ltd. (PANASIA).

The two sides held discussions on port-shipping logistics coordination, business expansion, and efficient connection with the Pinglu Canal river-sea direct shipping business.

Ma thanked COSCO SHIPPING Lines for its long-term support in route layout, capacity deployment and multimodal transport at Beibu Gulf Port.

He said the upcoming opening of the Pinglu Canal will bring new opportunities for the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor and create a new development window for port, shipping and logistics cooperation.

He expressed hope that the two sides will deepen practical cooperation in areas including the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, annual strategic tasks, supply chain platform joint ventures and cargo organization for the Pinglu Canal.
