Seacon has continued to integrate digital and low-carbon technologies into its shipping business, improving vessel efficiency and international regulatory compliance.

Gou has focused on the green transition and digital applications in shipping. He led the creation of China’s first FuelEU compliance pool, establishing a cross-company mechanism for sharing carbon surpluses among vessels and reducing green-compliance costs for small and medium-sized operators.

He also led development of the Green Future intelligent vessel-emissions monitoring and accounting system. The platform automates operational-data collection, multi-standard emissions calculations and dynamic carbon management, supporting FuelEU Maritime, the EU ETS and IMO DCS requirements.

The SEACON NAGOYA has sailed more than 95,000 nautical miles safely and transported over 100,000 tonnes of grain, ore, coal and other bulk cargoes since its maiden voyage in January 2025.

The vessel is equipped with several energy-saving devices, consumes less than 10 tonnes of fuel per day on average, has maintained an annual CII rating of A and holds a RightShip greenhouse-gas rating of A+.

It has also passed four Port State Control inspections with zero deficiencies and has been placed on the Tokyo MOU’s low-risk vessel list. The ship has strengthened safety responsibilities, risk control, crew training and team development.

The competition is organized by the Shandong Seafarers’ Union to encourage innovation among employees and frontline teams and to accelerate the application of new technologies, processes and methods in operations, safety, decarbonization and service.

Seacon said the awards recognize its long-term commitment to innovation, green operations and safety management, and that it will continue using technology to improve ship-management and operating services.
