Miao Jianmin, Chairman of China Merchants Group, met with Yin Zhaojun, Chairman of China Taiping Insurance Group, in Hong Kong on August 3 to discuss deepening cooperation.

Miao Jianmin said China Taiping has extensive experience in marine reinsurance and risk management, which aligns well with China Merchants Group’s overseas shipping and energy business. He expressed hope that the two sides would build a comprehensive shipping risk protection platform and accelerate cooperation in cargo risk insurance projects.

Yin Zhaojun said the two groups have strong complementary advantages and could jointly develop integrated risk protection solutions covering shipbuilding, leasing, overseas port assets and international transportation.

The two sides aim to strengthen cooperation between shipping, insurance and finance sectors to support safer and more sustainable global shipping operations.
