Three port areas of Sanya Port in Hainan — Nanshan Port Area, Yinggehai Port Area and Qingshui Bay Port Area — have officially opened to international vessels. 

The expansion marks the formation of a multi-port-area international opening pattern and further enhances Sanya’s role as an international maritime gateway.

The three port areas have different functions: Nanshan Port Area supports international cargo, Ro-Ro and oil transportation operations; Yinggehai Port Area mainly serves energy-related vessel operations; and Qingshui Bay Port Area focuses on international yacht services.

Each port area is equipped with dedicated anchorages and navigation channels to provide safe and efficient support for international vessel operations.

The expansion will improve Hainan’s southern coastal port network, support the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port, and promote the growth of port-related industries, shipping services and coastal tourism.
