COSCO SHIPPING Group has launched its “Sailing Together” responsibility brand and a “1+N+M” sustainable development reporting system.
On August 26, COSCO SHIPPING held a social responsibility achievements press conference in Beijing, where it officially released the new responsibility brand and reporting framework. The group also launched the “Panda Captain: Protecting Our Home” public welfare program with the China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda.
The event reviewed COSCO SHIPPING’s social responsibility practices over the past decade since its restructuring and marked a new stage in the group’s systematic and value-oriented approach to sustainable development.

Lin Ji, Director, President and Deputy Party Secretary of COSCO SHIPPING Group, said the company has deeply integrated sustainability and social responsibility into its top-level strategy and full business chain. Over the past decade, COSCO SHIPPING has advanced green and low-carbon development, with new energy-powered vessels accounting for 33% of its new ships in 2025. It has also participated in the formulation of IMO emission reduction rules and proposed Chinese solutions on key issues.
At the event, Luo Bing, Vice President and Party Leadership Group Member of COSCO SHIPPING Group, explained the meaning of the “Sailing Together” brand. He said the brand reflects both COSCO SHIPPING’s century-old spirit and its long-term practice of the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind.
The supporting “1+N+M” reporting system includes one annual comprehensive sustainability report, multiple special reports, and sustainability or social responsibility reports from subsidiaries at home and abroad. In 2025, 24 second-tier subsidiaries independently prepared and released 33 reports.
Another highlight of the event was the launch of the giant panda public welfare program. The COSCO SHIPPING Charity Foundation will support research on panda rewilding and the “healing power” of giant pandas. The initiative follows the group’s previous donation project for giant pandas in Finland in 2021.
The event also featured six social responsibility stories from around the world, covering topics such as the Lebanon evacuation, Chancay Port’s green development, China-Europe cultural exchange, rural revitalization and China-Guinea friendship.
COSCO SHIPPING said it will continue to deepen the development of the “Sailing Together” responsibility brand and contribute to global sustainable development through responsible international shipping practices.
