On September 15, Sea Legend Line’s TIGER MAANSHAN departed Ningbo-Zhoushan Port fully loaded to join the China-Europe Arctic Express (CAX) service.
The ice-strengthened LNG-powered containership will operate on a route connecting Nansha, Taicang, Ningbo, Felixstowe, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Gdynia and Oulu, with a transit time of approximately 20 days.

According to Sea Legend, this marks the first Arctic passage by a clean-energy-powered containership. The vessel is carrying mainly high-value Chinese exports, including energy storage equipment, PCS components, power batteries and new energy vehicles.
Powered by LNG, TIGER MAANSHAN is expected to reduce CO₂ emissions by around 30%, eliminate sulfur emissions, cut NOx emissions by approximately 85%, and reduce particulate matter and black carbon emissions by more than 95% compared with conventional HFO.
Sea Legend said three LNG-powered vessels — TIGER MAANSHAN, TIGER LIANYUNGANG and TIGER BINTULU — are expected to operate the CAX service this year, supporting regular green logistics links between China and Europe.
