Shenzhen COSCO Shipping New Energy Shipping Co., Ltd. has been established as a new subsidiary under COSCO Shipping Group’s green transformation strategy.

According to business registration information, the company was recently established with a registered capital of RMB 15 million and is wholly owned by COSCO Shipping (Tianjin) Co., Ltd.

The company’s business scope includes container and general cargo shipping between mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao, ship leasing, new energy technology development, energy management services, battery sales and related marine equipment services.

The establishment aligns with COSCO Shipping’s strategy of promoting green and low-carbon development. In July 2026, COSCO Shipping (Tianjin) established its New Energy Ship Division to focus on market expansion, operation management and technology application for new energy vessels.

COSCO Shipping has accelerated its green fleet transformation in recent years. In 2025, new energy and clean-energy vessels accounted for 33% of its newbuilding and fleet expansion projects. In June 2026, its independently developed 24,000 TEU methanol dual-fuel container ship COSCO Shipping Wisdom entered international service.
