Wan Hai Lines reported a significant increase in second-quarter profit, with net income attributable to shareholders rising 971% year on year.
Taiwan’s three major container shipping companies — Evergreen Marine Corporation, Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation and Wan Hai Lines — recently released their latest financial results.

In Q2 2026, Evergreen Marine Corporation recorded revenue of NTD 105.16 billion (approximately USD 3.29 billion), up 21.6% year on year, while net income attributable to shareholders reached NTD 16.04 billion (approximately USD 500 million), up 46.4%.
Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation reported Q2 revenue of NTD 45.92 billion (approximately USD 1.45 billion), up 18.8%, with shareholder-attributable net profit reaching NTD 5.73 billion (approximately USD 180 million), an increase of 482%.
Wan Hai Lines posted the strongest growth, with Q2 revenue rising 23.1% year on year to NTD 42.90 billion (approximately USD 1.33 billion). Net income attributable to shareholders surged 971% to NTD 11.54 billion (approximately USD 360 million).
Wan Hai said market rates remained elevated due to geopolitical disruptions, higher fuel costs and tight vessel supply, particularly on US routes, which supported stronger profitability during the quarter.
