Lianyungang Port Holdings Group and China Merchants Port Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement on September 5, aiming to deepen cooperation in port development and operations.
Lianyungang Party Secretary Xing Zhengjun met Xu Song, CEO of China Merchants Port Group, and his delegation during the visit.

The two sides highlighted Lianyungang’s strategic role as a major maritime gateway for central and western China as well as Central Asian countries, particularly in supporting the Belt and Road Initiative.
China Merchants Port said it will leverage its global port network, professional operating capabilities and industrial-chain resources to participate in Lianyungang Port’s development and strengthen practical cooperation in priority areas.
The partnership is expected to enhance Lianyungang’s competitiveness as an international hub port and further develop its port logistics and multimodal transportation network.
