Newly established Xiamen Xinliansheng Shipping Co., Ltd. has entered the container shipping market with an order for a 2,000-TEU containership.

According to shipbroker Braemar, the vessel has been ordered from Zhejiang Shenzhou Sunshine Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. for approximately RMB 158 million, with delivery scheduled for 2027.

Xiamen Xinliansheng Shipping has registered capital of RMB 20 million. Its business scope includes international container and general cargo shipping, ship agency and ship management services.

The company is equally owned by Zheng Daren and Zheng Daxin, both of whom have interests and management roles in logistics and shipping-related businesses.

The order comes amid growing interest from new entrants in the container shipping sector. Other companies have also ordered small containerships this year, including vessels of 740 TEU, 1,056 TEU and 1,900 TEU, reflecting continued investment in regional and niche container markets.
